he La Jolla Cove Bridge Club, located within the Ellen Browning Scripps Park at the La Jolla Cove, was built in 1939, a project of the WPA (Works Project Administration). The Riford Room was an addition that was donated by Mrs. Florence Riford. The Club facility once included a shuffleboard court, but that was removed and replaced by lawn, plants, flowers and trees in the mid-1990′s.
The large main room, is light and airy, with one entire wall filled with windows overlooking the ocean; the opposite wall overlooks the patio and lawn. The room contains six columns, enhancing the appearance. This room will comfortably accommodate up to 100 people, seated at tables.
There is a separate entertainment room, perfect for music and dancing. This room has hardwood floors, and is furnished with several sofas, chairs, tables, and potted plants, and can accomodate 50-60 people for dancing.
The outdoor patio, is a perfect location for a cocktail hour. The north area of the adjacent lawn is perfect for a wedding ceremony. Your guests will be able to view the ocean, the hills and homes across the ocean.
