The Maritime Museum of San Diego makes her historic ships available for corporate events, private events, team building programs, tall ships charter sails, and beautiful waterfront wedding receptions. The museum includes 2 venues, both or which are National and State Historic Landmarks: the Star of India and the Berkeley. Also on site are the State’s Official Tall Ship Californian as well as the HMS Surprise, a replica of an 18th century Royal Navy frigate used in the Academy Award winning motion picture, “Master and Commander, The Far Side of the World.”
The Berkeley is centrally located near the convention center, the airport, many local hotels and directly on San Diego Bay, and has two large open-air decks, offering your choice of downtown skyline or sunset views of the harbor. She boasts a large dance floor, beautiful hand carved wooden seating, and Victorian (opalescent) stained glass windows.
The historic tall ship Star of India, arguably the most unique icon of San Diego, was built in 1863, and has circled the globe 21 times. With itís magnificent top decks, the Star is surrounded by a 360 degree breath-taking view of the San Diego skyline and harbor.
