Oceanside Museum of Art

704 Pier View Way
Oceanside, CA 92054

Re-opened in March, 2008, The Oceanside Museum of Art is a cultural jewel located in downtown Oceanside with a view of the Pacific Ocean and the historic Oceanside Pier, that presents provocative, contemporary exhibitions from the region and around the world.
It is housed in side-by-side buildings designed by two of southern Californiaís most renowned Modernist architects. The classic Irving Gill designed building is nestled against the contemporary Frederick Fisher designed Central Pavilion creating the perfect union of past and present architecture. The museum space has more than quadrupled in size to 21,000 square feet with the addition of the $5 million, glass-fronted Central Pavilion.  The Pavilion gives the museum a new entry with a spacious lobby, and through the use of large sliding glass doors the lobby and terrace can be conjoined, seating 250 guests for al fresco dining and up to 800 guests for standing special events. It also provides two handsome gallery spaces, and a full catering kitchen.
